Hi, second year grower with a gourd longer than the trellis he built....never thought I'd get one over 100".
Please have a look at this posting and let me know what I should do to allow the gourd to keep growing towards the ground away from the rock wall and into the pumpkin patch.

Foam, board, ramp?? My wife suggested using a boogy board (you know those things for body surfing) they are long sytrofoam...would that work?
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Comment here or email me direclty at;

I've heard of growers cutting a 6" pvc pipe in half length wise and putting it on an angle and have the gourd grow down that. The hook on the end of the gourd may present a bit of problem if you are angling it towards the pumpkin patch. Make sure you have the gourd tied off at the top to take the weight as well. Good Luck Glen

Thanks for the replies here and by email. Agreed Bryan, that hook is facing the wrong way or the pvc idea would work great.
Jane and Phil, if I need to dig...I certainly will!! Might even have to remove a pumpkin leaf or two.
