Subject: DMG Long Gourd?

I see in the weigh info this year there is a 118" Long Gourd listed as DMG. How do you get a measurement but have it listed DMG? I thought long gourds could be moldy, rotting, split, etc yet as long as they are in one piece they can be measured and entered. If they did break in half wouldn't you just measure the longest piece? I just can't figure out how a Long Gourd could be listed as DMG.

Several years ago I had an LG that was 121 with a damaged tip. The NC weigh off judge measured the LG down to but not including the damaged tip, it is listed as 118 inches.

if the tip is damaged it still counts, right??

Yes, it should get measured right to the end even if the tip is brown or damaged. Good Luck with Eva.

we really need some solid rules for the long gourds, this way we know what is damaged or not.Some of the DMG this year had a squishy but green end another had a brown but solid end and another had a rotten end but still intact
