I was wondering how deep some of you have had to dig to allow the gourd to keep growing. I have 1 that was set only 6 feet up, and is 99" today. I think its around 20-24 dap. I just keep on digg'n

just tracked down a photo, and the gourd is only 14-15 dap at the most, I was way off. Growth seems to be slowing a little, but was doing over 9" a day for some time. hope she stays alive.

Digging is a pain to do but sometimes that is all we can do. Our 129 was dug in about 2 feet and when heavy rains came the hole would fill up. LOL

http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=226443 Last year in my patch. I must have been 18" deep for my 120 and 129. This year I raised the trellis and deepened the drainage ditch under it.
