There is a pic of one of my trellises. This is 14.5 feet high and 4 feet wide. The top is 12 feet long and 4 feet long. The long gourd will grow up one 14.5 foot side and I pollinate toward the middle of the 12 foot top. I like to see my plant 20 feet or longer before I pollinate.

I have a nice one might find it on the lg site.. they had pictures up at one time. I might be able to find a pic or two.. mine is 18 feet tall about 6 x 6 on the top with about a 12 x 12 base.. I use a blind bracket found at outdoor store.. the elevator bracket I think I used cedar trees as poles and covered it with hog fencing. i have not had any issues with it tipping over.. i never installed the ground anchors.

Each plant will need about a 5'X 5' at the top.

I built one last year about this time which I thought was high enough til this year lol. Look at my diary last year to see what I did. The top is 2x4 rafters and 2x4's ripped to 1 and 1/16 (you get 3 out of one 2x4)then routed with a roundover bit and sanded. Place on a 6"x6" grid. I got the rest of the material free but the top was about $400 including bolts. It is 10'X 12'+ at the top. The spring hanging on the line in the pics where the lgs hang is at about 150".

I also think cattle fencing is a good option just dig footings and brace it with some 45s.

jsterry you can look at my set up on my diary. runs from 10' to over 13' on high end. Woven wire up the sides facing south and cattle panels on top. flat top part is 8'x 30'. 2013 has a lot of pics whit gourds hanging and 2014 has good shot of plant covered trellis. I have a catwalk setup moveable 2 x 10 boards so pollinations are head high. so your not on a ladder in low light or wet weather works great!

If you are looking for a super cheap and very effective one take a look at my diary http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=154650
The uprights are 12' 2x4 and the cross pieces are 8'. I've grown two plants on it but its better with just one. Nice thing is with two guys you can move it to a new spot each year. and for well under $100 it's still working great five years later.
