Has anyone ever had any luck taking the bend out of the end of a long gourd. Any methods or theories? looking to grab an extra 3 to 4 inches before cutting down.

...often thought about tying a window weight close to end of gord! Never tried it...lemme know how that works for you...:-) I try to shade gord during growth phase so it doesn't turn toward the light as they seem to do? Good Luck, Duff

When they are young, less than 4' gravity from hanging straight down usually straightens them out. After that its tough to get them straight.

Keep them clear of any vines or obstructions. They do not like to be around anything hence why they turn.. Just what I have found over the year.. Free and clear gives nice straight ones
