I am curious to know if long gourds will split due to excessive growth after too much rain or fertilizer the way that pumpkins do. I have never seen this however my PB is only 102 inches. I am feeling the need to push them hard. thanks!

They will split sometimes after a heavy rain, especially the older ones.

They can split if it gets real cold while growing late in the season.

I like to alternate between foliar and drench feeding when they get about half grown. I use Schultz or Miracle Gro tomato food, add molasses if foliar feeding. Never blew one up that way, but there is a first time for everything.
