We are approaching 60" rapidly growing...even with the cold weather...The plants are tame this year.. The yugoslavians are excellent...Thanks whoever sent them to me.

I appreciated the female pictures you sent Shannon. They're the only female Long Gourds I've seen all year. LOL
I have a couple rouge vines that decided to visit my neighbors by crossing the garage roof & now threaten to rip off my new gutters.
On a positive note, Long Gourds seem to exhibit some resisitance to Powdery Mildew. That's good since spraying fungicide over my head in the early evening isn't terribly pleasant so I stopped after the first attempt.
The Secret Society of Long Gourdsmen is now likely to rip up my membership card...sniff...

THe plant you gave me is putzing along at 50" or so. The gourd is incredibly fat, just like yours from last year, so its really weighing down the vine up on top. I got bungee straps supporting it but i think it still may be kinking a bit. Slow and steady seems to be doing it tho, no complaints here.

I got gourds early and many this year not the longest but I should have some good seed to pass out this year. It seems to me over fertilizing effects gourds worse than pumpkins. I dont fert the gourds hardly at all only folar fish/seeweed. Steve

Rumor has it the record of 110 5/8" will fall easily..This Coming from a mole in the SSLGG's. For you guys unaware of this society it is The Secret Society of Long Gourd Growers. It is so secret I am not sure if I have the initials right. Very hard organization to get in to.
