How are you giant tomato growers doing? A lot of my earlier tomatoes are cat faced. Will this significantly affect the size of a tomato?

This is my first year trying tomatoes so I'm not sure where they should be but I guess they're doing OK. Tomatoes grow so slow compared to pumpkins! Should we be able to see growth on a daily or weekly basis? And what's cat faced? I have some ugly tomatoes but none of them look like any cat I've seen....LOL.

Cat faced means misshaped with cracks coming from the stem end, with abnormal growths...
This site has a picture: http://deseretnews.com/dn/print/1,1442,600148519,00.html Here is a quote from that article by By Larry A. Sagers of the Deseret Morning News "Cat-facing describes misshapen fruit with irregular bulges at the blossom end and bands of leathery scar tissue. Cold weather when the blossoms set can distort and kill certain cells that should develop into fruit, resulting in deformed fruits. The problem is the most prevalent on the first-formed fruit. Cat-facing is most common on large-fruited "beefsteak"-type tomatoes."

'Scar tissue' is often tougher and thicker - therefore heavier? I dunno.
My Big Zac plant has just gotten it's first fruit after I stressed the plant and delayed flowering. But I hope the stress has done it good in the long run, I feel that in some ways, stress can make plants stronger in the long run.

I pruned off a tomato today that weighed 1 pound. It was a very painful thing to do.I should not have waited so long.
