The winning tomato in Toronto this past weekend was 5.73 pounds despite their having a horrible growing season. One year the winner almost broke the world record and was well over 7 pounds. I think it will be very difficult to outdo the Canadians unless we get a clone of Gordon Graham to do it. The tomatoes grown in Canada are for the most part heirlooms and almost all of them don't have a name. They were brought from Italy years ago and grown by families year in and year out. The winners in Canada do not share their seeds as they are very competitive. There is a very large Italian community in and around Toronto and most have gardens and all that do are growing tomatoes.
