Pete, you should keep it open until the 20th at least. Windsor now has a tomato category and the weigh off is Oct. 2nd. There are some more after that.

Let it go to end of Oct, Pete

We may have a few late weighs here around our pumpkin weighoff. We will certainly judge, measure, weigh, and verify any tomato brought to the pumpkin weighoff Oct 16th.

Doesn't cost anything to let it go a bit longer.

Tomatoes on Thursday the 16th, wahoo. Holding hands by phone all day today, going to be a good contest this year.

If you guys are doing as good as I am it should be till about the first week in October.I also have another pic to show ya.It ain't Big Zac.This one is Stump of the World. Also another heirloom I grew ( Rose) has consistently given me tomatoes in the one to three pound range.

Marv.

On top of Brush Mountain, Pa.

Going back, what exactly is the lineage of this tomato, its parents going back. Is it from a Big Zac initially? The winning tomato in Canada this year at the Great Tomato Hunt was 4.78 pounds, less than usual.

I like the later date! Most of my tomatoes are still green and growing and getting bigger still not even showing red yet but getting big!
I did get a late start by having to replant and the shock my plants went through from a bad hailstorm on July 4.
But I'm sure old man winter will shut everything down soon! =(
