A few of us will be getting together soon to start a giant tomato contest to be held in association with the annual Utah Giant Pumpkin Growers weigh-off. This apparently will be a first for the state.
Can anyone point us to an "official" list of rules for hosting such a contest? Of course we would want any outstanding specimens to be recognized anywhere.
Thanks.

There are not many rules for tomato weighoffs. The scales must be certified. The tomato can have only one stem. Fused blossoms is one thing and fused stems is another. There are big tomatoes with fused stems and these should not be counted as one tomato. The tomato cannot be frozen. The tomato should be clean. There should be no evidence of tampering. Excessive amounts of stem should be pruned back. Thats about it. Marv
