Here is another idea. We all try and kill bugs that come into our mater patch. How about trying to bring in insects that are good for the gardens. Here is a link to a youtube video. Does anyone have any other ideas?

I have ordered in 3 praying mantis egg cases to see if I can populate our gardens with these ferocious eaters. Its mainly the cuc beetles we have to worry about.

Linden, Mi.,

praying mantis - eat good bugs, like lady bugs, (lady bugs eat aphids), and we all know aphids are bad for our plants

Praying mantis should not eat lady bugs

Praying Mantis Eggs are used to populate your garden with Praying Mantises. Praying Mantis are one of the most effective answers for people who do not want to use unsafe chemical substances in their gardening to handle insects. They are one of the best predator insects, consuming about any kind of bug except the beneficial Lady Bug.

They eat just about everything.
There are many predatory bugs that eat certain insects.
Mantids will eat anything that comes close enough even ladybugs.

Got my LadyBugs in today and the info sheet said Who are Ladybug's enemies?

"Anthing that eats insects, like spiders, Praying Mantids and birds. But some Ladybugs have a chemical they produce that keeps their enemies rom eating them after the first one."

Even if they do eat the odd ladybug, I have no other choice as here in Ontario I cannot use the killing chemicals that you folks south of the border can. In the end my health will be the real winner.
