i had mine go 35 -45 days last year,most people will tell u 60 days but not in my mater patch lol pizza

a friend of mine did a study on 200 tomatos last year and it says most tomatos ripen in 60-90 days ,lol he had 150 of them ripen in 35-45 days most were 35,38,41 days ,i wish i could get one to go 60 plus days !!! pizza

In the cool spring weather it takes longer. Like the first few tomatoes = 50 to 60 days. Then later in the summer heat it's faster = 35 to 45 days. then fall it's little cooler back to 45 to 50 days. That's what I have seen in my garden.

You will understand this if you read about Growing Degree Days. Your observation D'james is exactly right. Maturing of tomatoes has a lot to do with average daily temps, the highs and the lows. If it is too hot or too cold growth slows and the longer it takes for a tomato to mature. This is why the maturation time varies not only from season to season but during the season as well and also geographically. Marv
