Seen any monster tomatoes at the baby stage yet? If you don't soon see a double or triple or more fertilized blossom in your garden soon, it will be time to start thinking about next year. Marv

last week in July for Set is about perfect time, Phil and Jane didnt set there matter till first week in Aug last year and they came out with an 7.33 lber .. WOW....

Ive got a Really nice "5 Matter in one" growing on my 7.33 Hunt it will probably finish before Oct 1st.... Actually I know it will LOL.. But she will be big if she keeps growing.

Just remember that you don't necessarily have to weigh your tomato at a GPC Weigh-Off to enter it. There are instructions agout how to go about weighing it whenever you like and then entering. You need things like weight, measurements, witnesses and pictures but you can still enter. You could weigh it today if you had it. Tomatoes mature at different times relative to temperatures etc and geographical locations. If that megabloom gives you a big tomato early, all is not lost. Who knows exact updated GPC rules for tomatoes and entering? Marv

Straight from GPC rules.

Tomatoes – Early weighing
This category may be preweighed and be eligible for GPC
recognition under the following guide lines:
1) There must be at least 2 impartial judges present who have read
and understand the governing rules for these categories.
2) The entrant completes the GPC registration form and submits it
to the GPC within 24 hours of the time it was weighed.
3) Grower must designate which GPC sanctioned site the entry will
be attached to.
4) Pictures of the specimen on the scale are submitted with the
registration form.
5) Entrants must use the registration form provided on
greatpumpkincommonwealth.com under the “Resources” section.

Tomatoes
1) All tomatoes must be healthy; a healthy tomato must be free of significant
soft spots or leakage.
2) Skin may be cracked but not leaking.
3) Tomato weights must be reported in pounds and ounces to 2nd decimal
place. (ie: 6 pounds 5.53 ounces)
4) Stem must be cut within .5 inches of the specimen.
5) Green fruit will be allowed for weigh-off purposes.
6) Specimen must be weighed on a certified scale of appropriate sensitivity.
7) No frozen specimens will be allowed.

I just submitted pictures of three tomatoes (on my two 7.33 Hunt plants) to the gallery. I think they're all looking pretty good, what would you say?

It's my rookie year growing giant tomatoes and I don't know which tomato I should keep on the first plant. Maybe someone could help me? Thanks! (If this is too off topic, please tell me. Then I'll start a new thread.)

The other thing is that the scale must be certified and the picture has to show the weight on the scale and the tomato sitting there. LOL. Marv

Ok....I have a question. What is meant by "list certification details"? I have a nice Tomato that will be ripe within the week and I might want to enter it using this form...dont want t screw it up!
