I have a tomato growing rather rapidly from a five fused bloom on one of my Big Zac plants.
I have others that are maturing that would have been very interesting to have kept the CC as a daily record.
Perhaps I'll attempt that on the monster currently growing on the Big Zac plant.

Hi Big Kahuna,
I attempted to access the chart but it appears there's nothing there currently to access.
Am I missing something? Have to be a member?

For a few of my largest tomatoes over the past couple of years, I took daily measurements of diameters along 3 axes with precision calipers. The largest reliable 1-day diameter growth I recorded for my largest tomato was 7.2 cm, which converts to 2.8". This is not as impressive as it sounds, since it was at just 12 days after fruit set. This much gain in girth converted to a 1-day weight gain of 0.066 lb.
Late in the growth cycle, the best one day weight gain I recorded was estimated at 0.137 lb. on day 47. This was a circumference gain of 2.5 cm, almost an inch. For the most rapid growth phase of this tomato, days 37-53, average circumference gain was 1.95 cm (0.77 in.). Average estimated daily weight gain was 0.072 lb. during this period.
I'm thinking a world record tomato would need to grow at at least double this rate. Either that or grow for much longer.

Oops, sorry, wish there were an "Edit" button. Let's redo that last post (when will I ever learn to double check my math...). For a few of my largest tomatoes over the past couple of years, I took daily measurements of diameters along 3 axes with precision calipers. The largest reliable 1-day diameter growth I recorded for my largest tomato was 7.2 mm, which converts to a 0.89" gain in circumference. This is not as impressive as it sounds, since it was at just 12 days after fruit set. This much gain in girth converted to a 1-day weight gain of 0.066 lb.
Late in the growth cycle, the best one day weight gain I recorded was estimated at 0.137 lb. on day 47. This was a circumference gain of 0.46". For the most rapid growth phase of this tomato, days 37-53, average circumference gain was 0.24". Average estimated daily weight gain was 0.072 lb. during this period.
I'm thinking a world record tomato would need to grow at at least double this rate. Either that or grow for much longer.

Certainly this is very good news you have. Growing for 53 days is indeed an accomplishment. How have you done this?
