I have always taken the seeds and pulp mashed them up and let them ferment. Add the contents to a jar fill with water, shake well, the seeds sink the the bottom, remove the pulp from the surface, drain, Rinse well, place them on a paper towel to dry.

yardman, i use the oxi clean method all the time works fine and does not affect germ. ratio, take 1 spoonfull of oxiclean and 2 cups warm water and mix real good ,cut tomato top off squeeze tomato so seeds fall into container, let sit 1 hour mix a few times then drain on strainer ,pick out any big pieces and rinse 2 or three times to get all the oxiclean off ,then put on ceramic plate to dry overnight maybe 2 days ,but most dry in 24 hours ,then scrape seeds off plate with a credit card and put into air tight container!!! will post some pics this week gona save some seeds from a few tomatos check my diary !!! pizza

oxiclean method is quicker and almost foolproof. after harvesting my seeds, i fill cup 3/4 way with water and half tsp oxiclean. 15 minutes stir, 15 minutes rinse, then drain and dry seeds.
