I was thinking about trying to grow one inside this winter. Anyone ever grow a nice one in the winter months? Does it count for the gpc results?

People grow tomatoes inside all the time in greenhouses. Good luck.

I got some going in the windows just for the sake of it. Handy hydro tomatos taste like water no flavor my buddy &i grew 99 plants in highschool greenhouse class.soil is what gives them flavor.but they were size of softballs in 3 months from seed

I have grown tomatoes in my den for several years. On January 1, 2011 the local newspaper took pictures and reported I was the first tomato of the year. The size of your tomato will most likely be far less than one grown outside with the right conditions. You can not beat the sun for growing tomato's. A grow light won't reproduce the results the sun does and it doesn't warm the soil the same either. The reason I grow indoors is to beat the odds and to have more of the seeds with quality genetics. Wish you luck!
