The tomato listed above was the parent of many really big tomatoes. We are talking about some 5 and 6 pound tomatoes grown by Timm, Harp and more recently all of the big Boudyo tomatoes over the last 3 years with three 6 pounders this year. On another thread here it was brought up that the 2007 Catapano 3.09 that was thought to have been grown from the 2006 Lyons 4.59 (this was in the Big Zac line) might actually have been grown by Catapano from one of his own family seeds, probably an heirloom. Has it yet been determined from whence came the 2007 Catapano 3.09? If it was an heirloom seed grown by Catapano this really shakes up the histories we have been trying to keep up to date of the tomato seeds we are growing. I started this as a new thread as the older one seemed to be dying and moving down the page though my curiousity has been aroused. Historically it will be important to know.
