How tall or big should the plant be until I can start pruning?

Alright. So should I begin getting the suckers and selecting branches when the plant begins to blossom?

Bryn,
Prune after you have successfully set a mega bloom with the tomato growing. You do not want to prune before simply because you don't want to limit the amount of blooms you would have in which to choose from.
After you have the tomato growing, prune the plant to only one stem.
Remove all suckers as well as any further blooms. Stop the plant from growing vertically by cutting the growth at the top.
Doing these steps will maximize the energy and nutrients that go into your tomato.
