Do you keep a mega bloom on the first or second cluster of flowers if you have the luxury? I can see the first flowers coming on my plants, and there are some big buds on the first cluster. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes. If you can keep a mega bloom on the first set. That's what I try for!

You should do nothing until you see whether or not it sets, which it might not even do. You may not get another megabloom at the next level or even the one after that. Wait and see.

I also like the first set. It seems to give the biggest blooms for me anyway.

I don't really notice a difference but my biggest have been on the third truss...(prolly because I starting feeding a bit to late)... It depends on how the plant is grown/growing...

This is just my .02, to each their own. If there is a mega bloom on the first truss you can go ahead and clip the growing tip right then and take the risk. This for the most part will yeild bigger fruit, the trusses after the bloom don't contribute to the growth of that fruit. After that truss the next will feed it's blooms if present or apical growth. By the time fruit growth begins your plant will have developed greatly. It's a risk vs. reward trade off. If I don't get a suitable bloom on the first truss I'll go another or two, when I set one I cut the rest of the plant above it off. No suckers ever.

Are you saying that you pruned your plant before you were certain the megabloom had set?

I made sure it was set.
