Hello Everyone!

I'm taking the lead this year on the Indoor grow challenge. Bnot has graciously offered up some ribbon prizes and I will put together something as well (to be determined). The tomato must be grown indoors, a greenhouse doesn't count. Most people use a grow tent or something similar. Last year I grew 4 plants but this year I will likely only do two. I'm Excited to see what you growers come up with! The final day for a tomato submission is 3/20/2019.

Thanks Austin..I can already see some creativity this winter. Check out the diary entry of Midwestgrower. I am intending on starting out with only two plants, but that could go up when the snow starts to fly and my house needs a bit more grow light heat. This weekend will have to pick two seeds to start out with. Four pounds or better this winter..the bp growers can do it.

My hunt delicious breeder seeds have sprouted...the brutus magnums are lagging a bit. Backwards from what I expected...the brutus magnums this spring were the most aggressive seedlings I had. Need to clean and fill a couple of hydro tanks and start my competition plants. Going to start out with my 6.32 MegamuttD (have too keep up with my grow store) and also my 5.08 from the 4.38 (wonder if I can duplicate the supermega from last year with a timed shot of P and K). There has to be more growers trying it this year..speak up, it is fun to know who all is giving it a try.

Bob, I will be growing the 4.38 again this spring. It was my 'Loafer' tomato I took to Stillwater. It wasn't a mega bloom. I will be sending seeds to Brandon Clayton with my other seeds. I haven't heard from Weird Wint if he wants me to send it to him when we swap seeds. I asked Udo if he wanted me to send it to him with other seeds but haven't heard anything back.

I've got mine going for 10 hours of daytime, running during the night when the temps drop so the light keeps it warm at that time.

I had 9 out of 9 seed sprouted...made a quick decision on which 4 go into my bigger pots for the breeder plants. It hurts to see 5 seedlings not have a chance to grow up. I am running my lights 14 hours per day. I like to see the plants before I go to work so lights go on about 5 am...after work, I also want to see them after work..so light off at 7 pm. The past few years I have ran 14 on, 10 off for the majority of my grows. I still have the fun plants to start, the winter competition plants. I had a grower send to me today..pictures of a cheap CO2 setup...tempting...very tempting. Maybe, just one...i should try for more extreme than I have done before....time is an issue.

I may try one plant. I hear ya wixom im thinking sterile soil medium and cross fingers... without uv light and predators it’s silly to expect great results?
