Aiight...for the rules police, many of which either dropped out last year or just didn’t bother posting weights...
Teams of three
Must nominate a team captain(will be responsible for contacting me)
Two biggest tomatoes per team-mate for a total of 6 toward overall score
Does NOT have to be gpc registered(but you should)
Tomatoes have to be “sound”...cracks ok but no leaking
Pics HAVE to be posted on BP.com..no journal?...send pics to your team captain to post...
In the event there’s a drop out , that team will be allowed to purchase two tomatoes from any “chain” grocery store to post for thier teammate ...also to be documented with pics in the journals...hmmm what else?...I’m sure this isn’t enough for everyone...buzzkill?

Not in teams yet - but i’d suggest a WhatsApp group for any team I’m in, to help facilitate communication through the season. Easy to share updates, tips & pics without it being lost in email - and phone friendly to snap live in the field. Easy to see it just being two people tho, if one’s not communicative given team starting number. Given the choice I’d opt for at least 4+ man teams, to give a greater chance of ongoing season chat being more than just two people. For me, prob more important than end weight result. Drop out weight contribution sounds like a fair solution to that side. *thumbs up*. Thanks for organising Porkchop, look fwd to it!

I have suggestions for rules. 1. A person quits for whatever reason, they can not participate the next year. 2. The team that has a member quit, the remaining team members can submit a tomato up to the weight of the quitter's PB. We don't want to punish remaining team members.

I know it might not be a popular idea but what about a entry fee for the contest?
Per person.
Folks are less likely to quit if they have money invested in something.
Will also help Chop with the expenses of plaques,awards,shipping costs.

Just a thought.

The grocery store thing is a fun idea. But... It might be a bit anticlimactic to have to buy a tomato. An alternative would be to use the smallest tomatoes submitted for each group (abc) as a default setting.

Like the what's app idea Doug, my apartment used it for Disney all summer long, and the 6 of us still chat daily with it 6 months later. Great tool for team communication, and it's free.
