Anyone use a dinky fan on their tomatoes?

Anyone have any opinions on small greenhouse fans for keeping mould / damp disease at bay?

My tomatoes are running late this year, and I’m conscious that they’ll be a lot more humidity about as they finish in Oct in a damp UK by them.

Thinking of running some small fans on any areas that look like the could be troublespots like dead spots in middle of some tomatoes or stem ends; in same way pumpkins grows have fans on stems / nubs as needed.

Any experience of doing so / suggestions/ advice?

Had a dead spot in my 6.02 dmg last year, where a mould started and keen not to experience it again. That lost my biggest tomato!

Thanks,
Douglas

I would think that keeping the rain off the plants would help. A fan might help but i wonder if the biggest issue is fruit flies. I wonder if they help spread rot or just show up after it has already started... Maybe both. I think a fan could stop stem rots... but i dont think it can stop ripe tomato from rotting.

And of course be cautious that nothing can fall out of place and do damage

I agree with Porkchop, I think air movement is good.
For my biggest fruits I have also put a plastic tray over it to keep water off.

You could blow sulfer onto the entire plant. Just dust everything with a leaf blower try not to dust yourself.
