I know tats its not a hard and fast answer as everyones climates soil and tech is different but i'm curious how much water is fed to a tomato per day approximately. I read some people give a feed weekly some smaller amounts daily?
I'm using about 4 to 5 L per day so about a gallon plant per day in raised hills 1 plant per hill. Amazing how much a tomato respires even with moderate temps, but add a little wind adn they seem to really suck the water up. Fruit seems to be growing at a good rate.

I use a gallon every other day , little over 2 inches a week that will increase as it gets hotter. Ben in the low mid 80s , I’m in containers though .how hot has it been ? Down under .

Currently the plants are rather small so i have watered a gallon about once a week. As my plants have 3 lb tomatoes i may water them 2 or 3 times a week. But i have leaf mulch under mine and that holds the moisture in

Its winter here, but I'm in Brisbane which is subtropical. The plants are pretty big tho, big leaves thick stems all topped now, Ive got some photos in my diary. The temps in the mid to low 70s and high 50s. a bit of wind seems to really pull the moisture up.

Thank you for the info guys. This is my first proper go at heavy tomatoes.Ive got some good seedlings going for a second grow after this first lot so hopefully I keep improving with each grow. I know my second grow soil will be vastly superior to what I'm growing in currently. I do like the hill tech, although it seems to use a little more water.

We got our first rain in 2.5 weeks. Glad I have no pumpkin this year. My tomatoes are just surviving on chlorine based town water. Jim

We finally had our first good rain last night since the beginning of may we were in an eary drought over here with golden brown lawns for those who don't water. But for me my garden does best on hot dry summers like this year.

I haven’t watered since planting two weeks ago. The solar mulch holds moisture and the roots grow in search of it.
