I figured my early tomato was past BER stage and pushed it a bit with kelp and miracle grow. Then it got BER on the other tomatoes. Just curious if anyone has an opinion whether it was the potassium or the ammonium? Or both. Because it seems like if both potassium and ammonium are high it can really mess up the calcium.

Sorry that was not very clear. I had some little tomatoes that were negatively affected when trying to feed the plant to help support the big tomato. My guess is my potassium was already very high. The kelp added more.
I usually avoid miracle grow because of the high ammonium. But it does have micronutrients that I am low on. Really I am just wanting to know... if you have gotten BER.. What were all the factors that caused it? Was ammonium a factor (in soluble blue fertilizer) ? Was excess potassium (kelp) a factor?

Brandon was on Rebel Rousers two years ago. It was great to have him on my team since we won year 1. He is not on my team this year.

Try organic bone meal. It has the calcium without ammonium. I am also using natural Azomite for its trace nutrients.

I also use Biomin liquid calcium.
