Thanks big moon!... I was unloading my stand-on lawnmower from the trailer at a steep angle and the wheel I stand on jackknifed and tried to twist me like a twizler ... that’s when the Femur snapped...then it slammed me down..I think that was the hip fracture. It’s been such a crappy run for me it’s not really phasing me...not gonna sweat it...be heathy and heal...still gonna have a blast this season. BiG BIg for Everyone this year!!!!! Go Lambchop GO!!!!!!

Bummer is right , I have also broke my femur before, when I was a kid a long time ago ,playing king of the hill ( I lost)..its a major suck , you have a great attitude and i am sure you will heal up nicely...

What a nightmare! Get well quickly. I am so sorry about your unfortunate happenings. I was going to say what a bad break but I won't. I don't know how you will be able to do much this season. Poor Porkchop. I can picture you sitting in a chair telling her what to do. A broken femur is bad enough but that and a broken hip is a lot to deal with. Get well soon Porkchop

Lol ... thanks guys. Don’t count us out.. lambchop will keep us where we need to be.. good news is they were able to pin it back together rather than replace the hip so it shouldn’t be too long before I get get back in the gardens. In the meantime I’m catching up on all the grower journals...keep up the great work folks...some awesome stuff!!

Im seeing a pattern spring starts porkchop injures himself to get out of working in the garden and having lambchop do all the gardening !!! Im sure you could find a better way to get out of doing the work in the garden than almost killing yourself every year ? You probably think that you are the wolverine (hough jackman) from the x men. You will just heal up in seconds after busting yourself up !!! Im telling you porkchop you don't heal up that way in real life !!!
Joking aside take it easy and rest up, those are prety serious injuries hope you heal up fast !!!

You will recall that when actors got ready to go on stage they were always told "Break a leg." You have actually gone ahead and done it and you are not even an actor. I would have a hard time wearing a cast on my leg and especially during the summer. You will need to find a long stick or a wire to use to scratch your leg when it itches under the cast. If they wired you together you might not even need a cast. That would be your lucky day. Get well soon.

I would presume they pinned the hip & most likely rodded the femur, so no cast involved.
