How much salsa can you make out of one of these heinous tomatoes?

They are really good eating and are great for salsa. Yes you can lose a third to the cat facing and the core (which can be stringy and mealy) but you can pretty easily get two pounds of delicious and fine textured tomato from a three pound tomato! You might be surprised how fast that amount of fresh salsa will get eaten though. I could be wrong but tomatoes cantaloupes and peppers are probably the best giant veggies for culinary use.

Got some giant habaneros growing right now. They’d better be hot.

I have a cousin that keeps razzing me about my tomato being ugly. I tell him it is the prettiest 8.355# tomato I have ever seen, ha! Anyhow, the beauty is in the number on the scale.

My neighbor recently described my La Rue tomato plants and overall garden area as "an alien landscape!" I laughed and decided he wasn't wrong.
