I have never grown any cantalopes before, and wondering how much room do they require? And can I use a raised bed for them? thanks Randy

Hi randy,i seen somewere on here some guys posted the Q and A about that im not sure were now, i think it ranged from 10 x 10 to a bit bigger but it wasnt a big area,thats why alot of us are growing them besides good eating. hope this helps. treetop

I like to keep them less than 150 Sqft. My best ones have always ways come from small plants. Never gotten one much over 30 on a large plant. Yes raise beds are perfect. Just watch the soil moisture. Its easier to get moisture levels uneven in a raised bed, which can cause splits.

I'm giving mine 100 sq.ft. Should do fine in raised bed. i will keep them pruned down to that size area.

A little off topic, but how many lopes would you grow on the one plant on that sized patch?? Is it like kins where you get one set and that's it for that plant??

yeah jake about 100 sq.ft. i only left 1 but some here say you can grow more than 1

You need some good beagles Kirk. I ussually grow two at 125sqft, but you may be on to something. May try that.
