Kirk, was yours thick or thin rinded? Should this be a genetic trait to look for, and if so...which is heavier, rind or flesh? I would guess the rind, but what do I know?? LOL Peace, Wayne

Some go lite or heavy like pumpkins. Wonder if it is Genetic? Methods? Weather conditions? All of the above? I'm not sure. Kirk or vic did you measure yours?

I think most of the thickness of the walls is genetic. I'm sure enviornment and care can change the outcome. If you look at commercial seed catalogs you will see that seed cavity sizes continue to get smaller with newer varieties.

BroDave, how are we gonna figure out which ones will weigh heavy? So's we will be growin 200# Lopes in 2014? LOL Sorta LOL, but sorta serious too!!! Thinkin that Lopes have structure to outgrow Melons!!! Look out Chris!!! Peace, Wayne
