TT - Will be starting some this week - wound up being out of town for the last 6 weeks helping setup and open a new store so haven't been getting much done on the garden - was going to start some already but then we got a cold spell from out of nowhere so decided to delay a bit just in case -- So far have a couple sunflowers doing pretty well and 3 red habanero plants that are starting to actually look like plants (Takes awhile for them to get going since the seeds are so tiny, kind of like the maters) - tried to start 4 Bhut Jolokai's also but none of them germinated so will be trying again this week (have 8 more seeds so hopefully can get a couple going at least - first attempt was in peat pots but will be using the paper towel method on the next attempt instead) Got some seeds from another grower that already has his melons going ! (Maybe he'll chime in with the best method for getting these things to germinate if he has any secrets)

The grape vines have all started putting out leaves and the fruit trees are loaded with blooms ( 2 Peach, 1 Plumcot, 1 Apple ) all are about 4-5 foot tall this year so still small but loaded with blooms so it is definitely looking like it's about time to get the melons going.

Hey Robbie if you need any more plants i have extras of all the ones i have listed. It looks like everybody in Moss Hill will be growing a giant Cantaloupe.LOL
I had bad luck last year germing lope seed so i put in extras of all of them . I'm embarrased to tell you how many seeds i started but this year only 1 didn't germinate !!!!Might take them down to Walmart and see if they want a truck load or 2...

LOL - Kirk I know the feeling last year I started with about 15 seeds and only had 4 germinate and then lost 3 of those to the first wind storm 2 days after putting them in the ground so will be starting several sets this year at staggered times so I can see where you would wind up with some extras (and always seems that when you plant the extras somehow they all germinate.)

Looks like we've got an interesting year ahead - Good Luck to all.

So far the germinations are looking pretty good -- started 8 Watermelon, 8 Cantelopes, 6 Black Beauty Zucchini, 4 Gretel Eggplant, 4 Eggplant, 4 Bhut Jolokai. Within 24 hours 1 Zucchini and 4 Watermelons were breaking the soil - and this morning after 48 Hours another 2 Zucchini, 3 Watermelon, and 4 Lopes were up (though I broke 1 trying to help it shed the seed shell when transplanting from the seed starting plugs I started them in to Peat Pots.)
