Have u been whittling ?NOT CARVING just take a stick and whittle it down, lots of folks stop by and seem life always has them worked up and they dont even know it,i just pull up a couple chairs by my fire pit and ask DO YOU WIDDLE? the answer is always the same NO, I ask WHY answer is always NO TIME, i tell them, well why we talk get you a piece of wood out of that old coffey can made into a bucket and heres a knife,before they get the bark off that peice they are relaxing LOL give it a try and you wont beleive the lope pins i have stacking up LOL, TURN OFF the tv go out to the yard and try it tonight before you know it its bedtime and you missed your tv shows LOL. also next i will tell you how to get the best whitting knife, and if your like me and like old stuff and making junk into something to use outdoors, check out back woods man magazine, i like it always something in it to make, even garden stuff from time to time. TT

lope pins are just the sharp sticks to hold the vines, Besides your paps best pocket knife you can make a great one with and old carbon blade pareing knife with two rivets, cut the handle and blade down and sharpen u will have a life time knife for the garden/skining/widdlin as we call it here in the hills,The carbon blades are getting hard to find. PW i bet your pap allways had the answers because he took the time to whittle and think. GOD BLESS, Treetop

TTop, have a drawer in grampa's old chicken coop, filled w/ old knives...any easy ways to figure out if carbon blade knife or not carbon blade? Thanks again for bringing back good memories!!! Peace, Wayne

If you havent cleaned them for a long time the carbon ones will have rust but u can clean them up, also your carbons are a dull or gray your stainless will be the crome looking ones, in my book nothing like a carbon.TT
