On my 44 Holloway. The measurements today were...
Cir=46, ss = 23.5, ee = 29.5 total =99 ott

So we use the pumpkin chart = 27.9 lbs est. Is that the way we do it ??

Its open pollinated so i have no clue how old. Can anyone look at there lope measurements & give me an idea how old it is???

It seems to be growing good, gaining 1.5 to 2 inches cir per day. Very dark green color.

Pumpkin chart is very accurate for lopes. I don't keep up with age much on lopes. Does it have netting yet? If not you got a long ways. 1.5 to 2 in circ gain a day is great. Be careful next week keep water ferts etc. consistent, growing really fast they can split if something fluctuates. I lost one on the 44 this weekend it was growing really fast and popped at the bloosom end after a big rain. Just hope the big one it thicker on the bloosom end than that one.

Thanks Jake, I posted a picture when approved. I have 2 on the plant seems to be 2-3 days behind. No real netting yet, just a hint on the stem end. I have been wanting to cut the smaller one, but it seems to be growing as well as the 1st. Mine are much fatter the some of the long ones i have seen. I can't grow anything skinny !

Chris, I grew the 44 Holloway last year.
I strongly believe a single plant can hold 2 or even 3 fruits. On the same plant , I had a 38lb, 35lb and a 20lber.
The fruit shape is strictly the same than your. Unfortunately, my biggest taped 43lb but went light.

This year,I m growing the 40 Holloway and the 45.2 Webb.
I really like the shape of the Weeb fruit.
However, the 40 Holloway plant is impressive. Leaves are huge ( 1 foot), vines are thick and growing quick. The fruit shape is fat as the 44 Holloway.
I crossed them together. Time will tell.

That should be a great cross Mehdi. I think Kirk's melon was off of Mr. Brights seeds which are ussually very long. The 44 come from the 50 Schnicker which is in the 64 Robb line, ussually very girthy. Chris, 2+ pounds a day is great. Keep up what ever your doing. I let two grow just in case. Glad I did since one of them blew. It weighed 40 pounds minus the guts. Seeds and all ran out. Both of them were very fat. The ss on the big one is 32" now.

Thanks Jake, that helps. I guess i will keep both and see. I just know if i cut 1, the other will blow at this late stage. I just hope to make a good weight of 40+

Mark, I'm not the one to catch.

I had a 3 one on the plant. Its was 18 days old today. I hand pollinated it. Had a 25 cir. Well it split on the blossem end today. The big one is still growing. I posted a pict yesterday in MsJanets diarery. The blossem end on the big one looks like yours did Jake. Hope it holds
