I apologize if this has already been discussed, but I am new to cantaloupe.
1 how many sq feet are needed per plant? 2 whats the WR? 3 colorado has cool night temps- is this good or bad?

Hi Pete,
1) 100 to 150 sq feet should do nicely, although you could probably grow a 50 or 60 pounder on 25 sq ft. 2) The WR is the 64.8 Robb. 3) There are others that would know better but I think you would be alright if you treat them the same as your AG's on cool nights. 4) 55 James 10, 50 Schnicker 06, 45.2 Webb 10 to name a few. The 50 Schnicker and 64.8 Robb are available at P&P seed. Also if your interested I can spare a few 55 James and also a few of the 42 & 38 James 10.

Pete last year was my 1st year growing lopes and both the 55 James and 42 James plants were both excellent, and did well (despite my inexperience). Thanks again to Vic for being so generous with his seeds!

Anytime Dan the 55 and 42 needs To be planted more with the 21 Crosby I think the 21 has a word record in it

I'm trying it again this year. Last year the 55 was my fastest growing plant, but a thunderstorm blew it around and damaged the stump.

These are seeds I know of that have grown at least 1 50+ pounder, maybe others know some more. 32.5 shymanski 21 Crosby 55 James 44 Holloway 25 Schnicker Two great crosses I'm looking forward to growing this year are 40.5 Daho 16.2 Webb Also think the 8 Cantrell needs to seed some more dirt.
