i have a canteloupe had lots of females and produced one which split at the blossom, dont they pollinate well, i saw bees around it pollinating but didnt pollinate
why do u think it didnt produce more fruit, do u think it was the heat

I don't know, mine ussually have alot of females on them but only a few set, even in good weather. Heat can cause a lack of pollination. My plants that pollinated earlier had more choices on them. Two of my later plants on set one each so when I split those two it was all over for those plants. If you have time try placing frozen water bottles around the blossom and lay a white towel over them. It works well with watermelons.
