Hi everyone, just a few questions: To what depth does the tap root on a lope grow to? I've got a patch marked out with four 9ft sleepers arranged in a square. I dug down about a foot, so the total depth is now 2ft. What should I fill the box with? Compost/sand? And should I fill it now or dig a little deeper? The soil is a loamy/clay. I'll be planting in around 2-3 months.
Sorry, never grown cantaloupes before, so just trying to learn.

Cheers and God bless,
Ben

2 Feet should be plenty deep. I have not measured tap root depth, but that sounds fine
