I'll be growing my own 64.8 WR seed. Haven't grown any lopes since breaking the record. Time to bump it up, wish me luck, :)

Any free pointers Scott? I have seeds that are one generation away from the 62# former record I hope to cross it with the 42 Moore, which is a selfed 64.8. I have trouble keeping the blossom ends from splitting though, seems to plague me every year.

Gotta pickem earlier Josh. They start to thin out the longer go past a certain point. Seeds start developing and a seed cavity is formed. At that point no weight is gained just separation on the vine end and thinning on the other end. Best of luck to all.

I agree with Spudley that the more mature it is the more likely it will split. Other factors also increase the odds. Certain seeds seam to have much thicker blossom ends. Like the 46.6 Westfall and the 8.0 Cantrell. Short girthy lopes also tend to be thicker than long skinny ones.
