Can Cantaloupe's be weighed early like a tomato or only at weigh offs?

There is no GPC competition category for cantaloupes. Most get a weight on certified scales like at the local post office when trying for a state record or a Guinness record. Hopefully in the near future cantaloupes will be added for GPC competition. At least one of the new GPC committee members is a cantaloupe grower.
