JB, I will give some good seeds for some tall SF's. Send me an email, steve@giantgardening.com and we'll work out the details. Think about joining the contest it's going to be a lot of fun and besides we don't have anyone from Nevada

On the main page of this forum about 8 down are the details of the contest. They typically grow between 16 -18' and when luck is with you the occasional 20+ footer.

PW, There are some SF strains that grow fairly tall, 15' -16' with a good size head 15"+ but you really don't want a wide head on a tall sunflower. When they get over 18' or so they usually have a small head, under 10" or so. I have two gardens, one for my talls and another for my wides. I'm trying for that 30' corn myself and basically use all the same techniques that I use on SF's. This year I'm going to try limiting the sun and providing lots of wind protection. Maybe the bucket method over the top of the plant?

Tallcorn, I've got some good seed. You wouldn't want to join the contest would you? Send me an email and we'll work out the details.

I actually grow my large heads (22") on my tall sunflowers. Not ideal, but I have to grow in wind protected cages due to the large amount of windy days and storms here, so I don't have much space.

GSteve, have you ever seen the pic's of the tall corn growin inside the barrel, that get's raised up as the corn grows taller, causing the top of the corn plant to continually search for sunlight? Peace, Wayne
PS...wish I could find the link, who knows, it might have come from you!!! LOL
