Im just now seeing the seed head begin to form. How long til it reaches its full size? My local fair is in 2 weeks and I was hoping to have something to enter in the largest seed head category. I dont know anything at all about sunflowers, is there a website or book someone could recommend? Id surely appreciate it :)

If you are want to give the sunflower head a boost. Start using a higher phosphate fert. 10-52-10 or something close. Soak the ground first.
