If i save corn seeds will they grow good next yr ? Burpee sweet corn --sugarpearl hybrid ?Also silverqueen ? Thanks

ok , thanks ! But i saved onion seeds from onion that was hybrid, & yes the company i bought them from- said they would not grow (dixondale farms ), But they grew fine the next yr !!!

They will grow just fine, the problem being they won't be the same. I believe genetically one quarter will be like one of the parents another quarter will be like another parent. While the remaining one half will still be like the hybrid seed you purchased. I have saved hybrid seed for other types of vegetables and been pleased with what turned out, but with corn I don't think it i even worth a shot. I have never tried an open pollinated corn that can even compare to the hybrids. They just are not very sweet.

Well it would not be worth it to go threw all the trouble just to have inferior corn , thanks for your time & reply !!!

Look up SU, SE, SH, and SH2 once for sweetcorn then you will understand
