Hi,
I grow giant sunflowers as a hobby. I'm looking for people that grow giant sunflowers, as I'm always looking for new giant varieties. I've tried most commercial varieties on the market. I have pictures of sunflowers I've grown over the years on my website at http://www.geocities.com/sunflower_info/ If you anyone has some pictures they have, I'd be glad to put them on my site.

Cool website. Nice Sunflowers too. I can't say I've ever producred any but open pollinations. Usually just Russian Giants & things such as this. Would like to communicate regarding purchase or trade for some of your seeds.

Thanks! I had such a hard time finding out information about giant sunflowers; so that is why I started to the site. You can contact me at sunflower_info@yahoo.com if you have any questions, or want to talk about trading seeds.
Thanks, Brian

We grow them every year...14' or so has been my largest. Gotta couple 10-11' and still growing going, they pop up in the patch every year now since the birds attack 'em and spread seed for me.

I am trying to grow some this year - got a late start but have plants doing ok. They are up about 8 feet right now and starting to form little heads - maybe 3" across. They are from a Mediterranean white variety that grows 18+ feet tall. Reportedly the heads get 24"+ across. We will see I guess. Another 3-4 feet tall and I will have to stake them. I have posted a picture of my Faulk pumpkin with 4 in the background. Should be available tomorrow.

Few SF pics from this year in my diary. I'd have to check on the 14'er, that was before I went digital.

Hey, Hoppette,
Can you tell us more about your Mediterranean sunflowers and where you got them?
I had a 14' last year, but my biggest this year just got blown over last night. Haven't measured it yet, but probably between 12 - 14' this year. They are fun to grow.
