Hi All,

I am into my second year of growing field pumpkins for size and weight. First year went well with a 70lb without much care to it. Now I am ready to go full bore with the field pumpkins. Can I follow similar fertilizer, pesticides, and fungicide programs as I would with giant pumpkins?

Has anyone treated the field pumpkins like the giants with leaving only one pumpkin per plant. Do you feel it was a successful attempt in doing so?

Thanks
Joe

GRP, for my second season I plan on doing exactly the same for my field pumpkins as I do for the AG's. I did that last season, which was my first, with some great results.

GRP, Not having grown a FP before I too grew my FP's similar to how I would an AG and also had good results. I think 200 lbs is not that far off for an FP.
