Organic mulch in orchards:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5_7BljiEUdU

Summary: Mulching with wood chips is very good. Best applied to soil surface. I think we can understand why...? We pumpkin growers are smart, we know it robs the nitrogen and sulfef out of the soil if its incorporated into the soil.

Nematodes:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=mN9XcACT5wY

Summary: Nematodes build up in soils and reduce yields. (In orchards.) No good management solutions here. Just scratching the surface of this topic, really.

Oh... and watch closely near the end for tidbits at the end... rhizoctonia & tillage of cover crops, the use of mustard to fumigate AND the affect of mustard on mycorrhizae... [study cheat sheet: It doesnt help myco, so maybe we need to be thinking of a trying a mixed cover crop mustard PLUS oats/rye...!? They could be grown together, if possible??]

Ps I dont think AGs are going to be hurt by rhizoctonia... cucumbers, maybe.

Is it just me or do I need 3x more active brain cells. Some more tidbits if you are keen. These articles are like a kid doing the "minnow" swim lessons who accidentally falls into the Mendi end of the pool.
