mike, i too am curious. what i have read on line and heard
from another illinois grower is that its a great weigh off.
i would like to bring one over if i had something decent
to show from an early grown plant. but i did hear that
there might be an exclusion to out of state growers this
year. maybe tom b might know a bit more.

All that I know is that its going to be like 6 days earlier this year.....ugh That means that my pumpkin for contest will be about 150 lbs less. DAMMIT!

I know nothing about the out of state rules changing. I dont have a say in that, nor do I know if its even discussed.

You might try to get a hold of Kelly Klinker or aka Carlos on here and he should be able to find out since he is the site coordinator. Thanks, Todd

The only rule change was a minimum weight of 200 or 300 lbs I can't remember. The weighoff is open to anyone.

What do you win if you win your state?

Bill, it is a normal weighoff so prizes consist of $1000 first, etc...
Last year I started March 20 in the house, this year I think I will start my plants around April 1...
