October 8th. First place will be paid $1 per lb with total prizes of $2200 or more. The interesting thing is that PREVIOUSLY weighed pumpkins WILL BE ALLOWED. This guy owns a huge farm market/ pumpkin patch and wants giant pumpkins as an attraction and hes willing to pay well for them. He has been operating for MANY years and wants to be the best in the Mid-West. I have been helping him organise this thing and I will release the final details very soon. At the very least it is a way for us to get together and make a little money with the pumpkins we left behind or with the ones we growers have already weighed. Because there may be a lack of excitement in bringing previously weighed fruit, we are looking at offering a combined class as well. Bring your biggest and your second biggest (the one that didn't make the cut for the GPC contest the week before) and we will add them together to see who has the most weight out of TWO pumpkins.
