Well no one broke Tim Herring record of 913 last year.
But you could tell it has been Very Hot and Humid and no no no no RAIN this year..

12TH was 7 year old kid brought his biggest Pumpkin out of the patch. 53LBS.Got there told his dad that he must of got the wrong one.It was cute.
A few of the growers this year are going to send James Machen grower of the 53lb pumpkin some of their seeds.
Will post pictures under winchester on the growers diary.

i need to move to southhampton county or at least grow my plants there.lol

I looked thru the picture could not find pic of Kreig"s watermelon.But it was abig one 162 was right.And his other watermelon was 139lbs.I think Bobby got James address. hope to find some info on Sunday when i pick up my pumpkin.Iwill let you know what i find out. Was alot of fun.HATS OFF TO YOU KREIG 757 LBS. SUPER FOR THIS YEAR...

i was thinking about picking my pumpkin up on monday.
most the growers that i talked to will be there Sunday.
I might just head up there Sunday night and try to get a few phone numbers.
hope to get some growers together this winter.
talk about the do's and dont's of pumpkin growing.

i wish i would have left my pumpkin growing i took it to the shenandoah co fair the last week of august it weighed 530 pounds my best ever. it looks like it would have been 3rd or even better if i didnt loose it. congradulations to all that weighed at richmond. i hope to get there next year. barry shrum

I'm new to pumpkin growing this year but did attend the State Fair way-off. Very impressive. Hope to join you guys in the fun next year! Winchester, if you are interested I did get a couple pictures of the 162# watermelon.
