This was our 1st annual Nanaimo Pumpkin festival and was a huge success . Special thanks to my wife Lesley Pley for all her hard work and getting all the sponsorship money's and for organizing and 2ndly to Art carefoot for his hard work helping to organize the event and 3rd to Jake Vankooten for helping moving the pumpkins and letting us use his lifting ring,which made things go alot smoother. Also It was great to meet Glenn Dixon and his wife from the North shore in Vancouver,super nice people and congrats to Cameron Carneige from Abbotsford for his big pumpkins for a 2nd year grower,unbelievable

Wow, nice job there... and another good season for the Island growers. I don't think it will be long before you'll need at least 1000lbs to crack the top 3-4 places... I need to find somewhere to grow and get my act together.

Ummm, Dave Pley, thanks for the congratulations, but actually it's my third year growing. Two non-competitive years in Alberta, discovered bp.com in my second year, and then moved down here to B.C. Also, not to embarass you or anything, but my name is actually Carnegie, not Carneige. Thanks again, and yah, it was a great day yesterday, thanks for organizing such a nice weigh-off! And Jake van Kooten was definitely a big help with his lifting ring, special regards goes to all the work he did.
