Usually weighoffs occur on 1st Sat. of Oct for GPC sites, which is Oct.5th this year. You can enter 1 fruit at each site(can't have same fruit at both sites). If you have 2 fruit, generally your spouse/kid could enter the other one. Most sites are one day events. I beleve the Nekoosa site is GPC but don't quote me. I'm in MN, we have acouple weigh off sites here also if your close. One in Austin MN, usually the weekend BEFORE the GPC weighoffs, the other in Gonvick MN same weekend as Austin. Both give a great place to see big fruit and meet other growers. Anamosa Iowa also has a GPC site. This is a BIG weighoff. Many pumpkins from Tri-state area, and usaully 800-1000 will take !st place. Hope this helps. Steve

Nekoosa is a GPC site. And holds the weighoff the 1st Saturday in October...which i guess is the 5th. Nekoosa is now the bigger weighoff of the two (of Nekoosa and Oconomowac)and most growers from WI head there (to Nekoosa). It is a one day event. Also there is a craft show, car show, and other interesting things like pumpkin carving and things for kids. There is also food and such...the event has really grown the last few years. Last year was an estimated 8000 people who attended on the one day event. We are hoping for a big year from all the perrenial growers where in WI, and a 1000 lbs is about to be achieved by someone and likely will be weighed in Nekoosa. I dont know much about Oconomowac, never been there.

There is a pumpkin organization in which you can join that most Wi growers belong to. It is the CWPG (Central WI Pumpkin Growers Association), which not many growers have heard of yet but we will get the word out after this year, with our own seed auction hopefully.

Some do head down to anamosa, IA because they are a bit closer the way if they live in the SW part of state or just the south part. There is good times there too.

I can try to get you more information on joining the cwpg if you like....right now i dont have the info but i can get it eventually.
