The 3rd Annual St. Mary's School Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off was held today. We had 14 entries, with an average weight of 217 pounds. We had fewer pumpkins this year, but they were much bigger. Here's the top three in each division.
Adults
1st Patrick Horvath 417 pounds
2nd John Laturnus 399 pounds
3rd Melanie Bos 356 pounds

Youth
Sheila Hirney 378 pounds
Lenny Millo 275 pounds
Kristen Bos 260 pounds

Prettiest pumpkin went to Adrian Klonin, while ugliest pumpkin was won by Kelsey Habraken.

We had a great time. We do it at the same time as the "Meet the Teacher Night" and make a party of it. It is open to anyone in the area, not just students and families. We are now one of the heaviest weigh-off sites in southern Alberta. Over $700 in cash and prizes was awarded. Thank you to all of our sponsors.
