ok if i take my pumpkins to the topsfield fair on oct 5,and they weigh over the the state record for il,will it be a done deal,or do i have to go to a weigh off site in il to be able to have the record.

679 is the current record for ill. i believe?

since pumpkins from 5 other states other than mass. usually weigh-off at topsfield and because it's a certified scale those weights count for those other states VT,NH,CONN,MAINE,RI.
But you'd should ask Hugh Wiberg to be sure.

why would ya want to drive all that way?

will you be there glenn,i figure there will be alot of growers there like yourself that is on this pumpkin .com site,plus it is a good reason to get away from the wife for a few days,and i figure if i drive all that way you will buy me lunch,there is also a place in new york that are wanting tankerman to load and unload chemical barges,they are paying 265.00 dollars a day,work two weeks go home for two weeks,thought about doing that for a few months,i was also thinking about checking out all the pumpkins that will be there try to get me some good seed for next year,i also figure that there maybe some dairy farms up that way might milk a few cows for a couple days,might even load up a couple thousand pumpkins and on the way stop in new york and sell a few what do they sell for in new york.

well of course i'll be there 14th year straight moving them things around! but no escaping my wife and five kids as they will all be there, there will be plenty of pumpkins at the weigh-off usually averages over 100+ entries even with the 350 lb min limit.
